11th edition of Polish-German COPERNICUS Scientific Award Competition

The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) and the German research foundation Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) have launched the 11th edition of the competition for the Polish-German COPERNICUS Science Award.

The aim of the initiative is to honor a pair of outstanding scientists—one from Poland and one from Germany—whose collaboration has contributed to particularly valuable research results.

The prize of €200,000 (€100,000 for each winner) is intended to support further development of joint scientific activities. The competition is open to representatives of all scientific disciplines, including the humanities and social sciences.

The deadline for submitting applications is July 15, 2025. Nominations must be submitted electronically via the DFG’s elan portal. First-time users of the system should register by July 1, 2025. This also applies to nominations made by third parties.

Detailed information, competition requirements, and application instructions are available on the FNP and DFG websites.

News articles about science are published in a series promoting science on the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School’s website.
