Aurora borealis seen again over Poland

Thanks to favorable meteorological conditions, on Wednesday, April 16 aurora borealis could be observed in various parts of Poland.

As reported by Karol Wójcicki, author of the „Z głową w gwiazdach” profile, a G3 geomagnetic storm raged over the Earth on Wednesday, at times turning into G4. It caused the aurora borealis to appear over Poland on Wednesday night.

Conditions for observing the northern lights over Poland were good. Many photos of the phenomenon were published on social media.

The aurora borealis is a natural light phenomenon characterized by a strong magnetic field. It has two names, derived from its location. Aurora Borealis is the aurora located in the northern hemisphere, and Aurora Australis is otherwise known as the southern aurora.
