Being a father is not just a social role. It is also the foundation of the sense of security, love, and trust that build a child’s mental health. When a father is absent—physically or emotionally—a void appears in a child’s life that can weaken mental resilience and increase the risk of emotional crises.
In the new episode of the podcast Jestem tu, jeszcze (I’m here, still talking), we talk to Karol Gnat – journalist, historian, creator of the program Zrujnowani – Odbudowani (Ruined – Rebuilt) and founder of the Odbudowani (Rebuilt) community. It is a community that helps men rebuild relationships, identity, and strength to live.
In this episode, we discuss, among other things:
- the role of the father in mental health prevention for children and adolescents,
- the consequences of the absence of a father for a child’s emotional development,
- how men can work through their own wounds and deficits to better support their children,
- why friendship and community are the foundation for rebuilding one’s life,
- how the testimony of other men can inspire and protect against crises.
This conversation is an important voice in the educational campaign on suicidology. It shows that prevention begins at home – with love, attentiveness, and the presence of parents.
