Telephones, social media, online games – these are the main sources of hate today. Despite the widespread belief that online hate is anonymous, Mikołaj Badziąg, president of the Stop Hejterom Foundation, strongly disagrees: “No one is anonymous anymore, it can be traced.”
In the new episode, we talk to the lawyer and president of the Stop Hejterom Foundation about where online hate comes from, what its consequences are (including suicide attempts), and how to defend yourself effectively.
From the conversation, you will learn:
- Is hate speech defined in Polish law and what legal documents regulate it?
- What are the triggers for hate speech?
- What counts as personal rights?
- Why is the myth of online anonymity a fiction and how does the police track down haters?
- What is the best defense strategy – to respond to attacks or to remain silent?
- What are the rules for gathering evidence?
- How to respond if we see that a child is withdrawn or rebellious.
- The most difficult cases handled by the foundation.
