In fiscal 2025, Microsoft intends to invest around $80 billion to develop data centers under artificial intelligence.
In a post on the company’s blog, Microsoft Vice President Brad Smith announced that the investment will include data centers responsible for training AI artificial intelligence and deploying cloud-based technology solutions to build AI-enabled data centers. More than half of this planned investment will be in the United States.
“As we look into the future, it’s clear that artificial intelligence is poised to become a world-changing GPT. AI promises to drive innovation and boost productivity in every sector of the economy. The United States is poised to stand at the forefront of this new technology wave, especially if it doubles down on its strengths and effectively partners internationally.” wrote Brad Smith in his statement.
Investment in AI has accelerated rapidly since the launch of Chat GPT in 2022. That’s when companies in various fields began integrating artificial intelligence into their services and products.
