Niron Magnetics has opened a commercial pilot plant in Minneapolis, US, producing rare earth-free magnets.
”This facility is the first-of-its-kind and produces a sustainable alternative to rare earth permanent magnets that are critical inputs to a wide variety of technologies and industries including electric vehicles, wind energy, and consumer electronics. As we continue to scale, we’re proud to support industries that are driving the shift toward a sustainable, electrified world,” the company wrote on its LinkedIn profile.
The plant covers an area of 6,500 square meters and has already begun production.
