Partial solar eclipse 2025 visible in Poland

On March 29, 2025, a partial solar eclipse will occur that will be also visible in Poland. This phenomenon, although less spectacular than a total eclipse, is an interesting event to observe for all astronomy enthusiasts.  

The timing of the phenomenon in Poland 

The eclipse will begin before noon and will be visible throughout the country. In Warsaw, the first signs of the eclipse will appear around 11:50 a.m., reaching its maximum phase at 12:28 p.m., when the Moon will cover about 7.3% of the Sun’s disc. The phenomenon will end around 1:06 p.m. In other cities, the maximum coverage of the Sun by the Moon will be as follows: 

  • Szczecin: 12:22 pm, maximum coverage 15.42%. 
  • Wrocław: 12:22, maximum coverage 9.32% 
  • Gdańsk: 12:22, maximum coverage 12.73% 
  • Poznań: 12:24, maximum coverage 11.37% 
  • Kraków: 12:25, maximum coverage 5.25% 
  • Łódź: 12:26, maximum coverage 8.02% 
  • Białystok: 12:32, maximum coverage 6.88% 

Eclipse viewing safety  

Observing the Sun without proper protection can lead to permanent damage to your eyesight. Therefore, it is recommended to use special eclipse glasses with certified filters or telescopes equipped with appropriate solar filters. Never look directly at the Sun without protection. 

More solar eclipses visible in Poland 

After the March 29, 2025 eclipse, the next partial solar eclipse will take place on August 2, 2027. Meanwhile, the total solar eclipse visible in Poland will take place on October 7, 2135.
