Poland’s Wilk Elektronik SA has signed a cooperation agreement with one of the leaders in the semiconductor industry -Taiwanese company Phison Electronics Corp.
During Computex tech expo in Taipei, the companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) providing for the establishment of a joint venture company, in which the Polish memory manufacturer will be the majority shareholder.
As reported, the new company will focus on the development and design of secure firmware for memory products based on NAND Flash technology. This specialization is expected to enable Europe to take a strategic position in the global semiconductor market.
Wilk Elektronik SA is a Polish company founded in 1991. Initially engaged in distribution, it quickly transformed into a supplier of computer memory in Poland. In 2003, the company opened a memory module factory in Łaziska Górne in Silesia. Currently, Wilk Elektronik is the only DRAM manufacturer in Europe. Wilk Elektronik’s equipment – DRAM computer memory, SSDs and Flash memory by Goodram and IRDM – is available in 47 markets around the world.
Phison Electronics Corp. is one of the world leaders in NAND flash controllers and NAND storage solutions. Phison products are used in smartphones, computers, game consoles and many other electronic devices around the world.
