Rector of SGMK appointed to the Family and Demography Council at the President of the Republic of Poland

The Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School, Prof. Gertruda Uścińska, PhD, was appointed by the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, to the Family and Demography Council, a new advisory body operating under the President of Poland. The ceremony of presenting the appointment certificates took place on December 2, 2025, at the Presidential Palace, with the participation of First Lady Marta Nawrocka. After the ceremony, the inaugural meeting of the Council was held.

The Family and Demography Council will be responsible for conducting strategic debates and analyzing the conditions affecting the functioning of families in Poland, as well as public measures supporting families and improving the country’s demographic situation. Its tasks will include preparing opinions and recommendations for the President of Poland and developing legislative proposals in the area of pro-family policy.

The establishment of the Council is a response to the deepening demographic crisis and the need for cooperation between experts from many fields, ranging from social policy and economics to medicine and pro-family organizations. Council members will act on the basis of social commitment and expert knowledge.

The appointment of the Rector of SGMK to this prestigious group is a recognition of her work to date and her commitment to issues related to social policy, education, and family support.
