The Minister of Science and Higher Education announced the results of the 20th edition of the scholarship competition for outstanding young scientists. Among the 228 winners was Rev. Dr. Paweł Lewandowski, who specializes in canon law.
The scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education is a prestigious distinction, but above all, it provides real support for young researchers, as the winners receive monthly financial support for three years. The competition enjoyed record participation, with as many as 1,711 applications from across the country. Rev. Dr. Lewandowski was awarded in the field of social sciences, in the discipline of canon law.

Scientific profile of Rev. Dr. Paweł Piotr Lewandowski
Rev. Dr. Paweł Lewandowski is a Doctor of Law, specializing in canon law. His scientific and professional career includes not only teaching and research, but also judicial practice in the Catholic Church and wide-ranging international activity.
He completed his studies in theology and canon law, obtaining a master’s degree in theology as well as master’s and doctorate in canon law. He defended his doctoral dissertation with honors on the right of diocesan priests to a decent livelihood in canon law and Polish special legislation.
As part of his academic career, he has completed numerous internships, practical training, and teaching trips in Spain, the US, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Italy, Ukraine, and Lebanon, among others. He has taught at many international universities and academic centers as part of the Erasmus+ and Guest Lecturer programs.
He is a diocesan judge, promoter of justice in the beatification process of Stefania Łącka, and a member of numerous academic and expert bodies, such as the Association of Polish Canonists, the Canadian Canon Law Society, and the Legal Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Lublin Branch.
Since 2022, he has been serving as Vice-Dean of the College of Legal Sciences at the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School.
