In the inaugural lecture, Rev. Prof. Mirosław Kalinowski, Rector of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, recalled that the university, according to its founder, Rev. Prof. Idzi Radziszewski, was to play a special role in free Poland. Among the university’s goals, Rev. Prof. Kalinowski listed the search for truth in scientific research and imparting such to students, the development of intellect and spirit, the practice of science and the discovery of knowledge in the journey towards true wisdom.
