Prof. Gertruda Uścińska, Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School in Warsaw, gave an interview for Gazeta Bankowa about financial security, retirement security and the transformation of the health care system during the 10th European Congress of Local Governments in Mikołajki.
“The efficiency of the health care system can and should be continuously evaluated. Moving away from unnecessary formalities would certainly improve its functioning. (…) A review of the rules for financing health services is needed. The challenge, therefore, is to finance the safeguarding of citizens’ access to health services,” said Prof. Uścińska in an interview with the editor-in-chief of Gazeta Bankowa.
According to the SGMK Rector, there are still many administrative barriers that generate unnecessary costs. Reducing some of those formalities would help improve the functioning of the health care system.
In the context of the discussion on changes in the social security system, Prof. Uścińska pointed out that any interventions in the pension system developed in Poland several decades ago need to be watched carefully, as well as new ideas that emerge in the discussions of this system. “The employer should make an effort to create the jobs for people with long work experience because there will be more and more of them.” – stressed the SGMK Rector.
