On March 15–17, 2026, Kraków hosted the Polish–Hungarian–American Leadership Summit (PHALS), an international forum dedicated to economic cooperation, geopolitical challenges, and the development of innovation in Central Europe. The meeting was attended by the Chancellor of the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School in Warsaw and the Director of the SGMK Doctoral School.
PHALS is an initiative building on the concept of the 2018 Polish–American Leadership Summit, expanded to include a trilateral dimension—involving Poland, Hungary, and the United States. The forum brought together representatives from the worlds of business, politics, academia, local government, and the media, creating a space for exchanging experiences and building international relationships.
The event’s program included, among other things, debates on security and politics, discussions on investments and the economy, as well as sessions dedicated to new technologies, education, and culture. Particular attention was paid to the role of the economy as a tool for strengthening sovereignty, the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the potential of innovation—from artificial intelligence to startup development.
The participation of SGMK representatives in the event provided an opportunity to familiarize themselves with current trends in international cooperation and to establish contacts with partners from Poland and abroad. The university’s presence among PHALS participants is part of efforts to strengthen its position in the international academic community and to develop scientific and educational cooperation.
The Polish–Hungarian–American Leadership Summit is not only a platform for discussion but also a space for initiating new projects and ventures that can contribute to the further development of the Central European region.
