The AirCar 2 flying car ready for takeoff by 2026

Slovakian company Klein Vision has announced that its innovative AirCar 2 vehicle, which combines the functions of a car and an airplane, will go on sale in early 2026. After years of testing and refinement, the project is ready for mass production.

Transformation and performance

The AirCar 2 can transform from a car into an airplane in about 80 seconds. The process involves extending the wings and tail, which allows it to take off from a runway that needs to be at least 300 meters long. In road mode, the vehicle reaches a maximum speed of 200 km/h, and in the air, its cruising speed is 250 km/h. The flight range is approximately 1,000 km, and the maximum cruising altitude reaches 4,572 meters.

Technical specifications

The vehicle is powered by a 280 hp gasoline engine. The structure is made of carbon composites, which ensures lightness and durability. AirCar 2 weighs approximately 1,100 kg. It is 5.8 meters long and 2 meters wide, which allows it to be parked in standard parking spaces.

User requirements

To legally use the AirCar 2, the person must have both a driver’s license and a pilot’s license. In addition, it is necessary to complete a specialized flying course lasting two to three months. The vehicle was certified as an aircraft in 2022, but it must undergo local approval procedures before being allowed on the road.

Klein Vision plans to start production of AirCar 2 in 2026, with an initial series of 100 units per year. The price of the vehicle will range between $800,000 and $1,000,000. The company has also sold the license to manufacture and sell AirCar in China to Hebei Jianxin Flying Car Technology Company.
