On October 21, Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School hosted master’s and doctoral students from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana (Kazakhstan). The group was led by Prof. Natalija Kalashnikova, head of the Department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss scientific cooperation and academic exchange between the universities, as well as to learn about the specifics of Polish higher education and projects implemented at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. The guests toured the university, met with representatives of the academic staff and students, and learned about the scientific and teaching activities of the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School.
The visit took place in the context of the Astana delegation’s participation in the scientific conference “Kazakhstan and the 21st Century: Challenges, Changes, and Prospects,” organized on October 23-24, 2025, at the Jagiellonian University.
L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University is one of the most prestigious universities in Kazakhstan, ranked 328th in the QS World University Rankings. It is also the only university in Central Asia included in the QS Top 50 Under 50 ranking, which recognizes young, dynamically developing academic centers. This year, the university is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The meeting at the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School was an important element in building international academic relations and supporting cooperation between Poland and Kazakhstan in the field of science and education.
