“We have a clear problem with health care financing and the shaping of the health premium. Our system is based on premiums and intervention of the state budget, which makes it increasingly difficult to understand for those paying the premiums,” said Prof. Gertruda Uścińska, Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School in an interview with wPolsce24.pl.
Prof. Uścińska is participating in the XXXIII Economic Forum in Karpacz. She took part in a panel on public health “Public health – the role and importance of prevention and health promotion”. The SGMK Rector also gave an interview for the media.
In an interview with wPolsce24, Prof. Uścińska stressed that social and societal security are one of the key elements of the functioning of the state. It is based on a stable system of social insurance, social security system, an adequate level of health care and the provision of adequate income in old age, illness and disability. As she noted, Poland has recently experienced clear and growing dysfunctions in this area.
The SGMK rector stressed the need to quickly simplify the system, so that every citizen knows how is his or her health insurance premium calculated and on which economic category it depends.
We encourage you to listen to the entire interview.
