Introducing the speakers of the FOTY 2024 Science Congress, “Dom Kopernika” Publishing Competition – press conference at SGMK

On March 18, a press conference on the Dom Kopernika Project and the Futurist of The Year 2024 Science Congress was held at the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School in Warsaw.

The conference began with a speech from SGMK Rector Dr. Piotr Turek, who summarized the first stage of the “Dom Kopernika” Competition carried out within the framework of the Copernicus Academy’s Dom Kopernika project. He has also informed that this Wednesday, 30 people will be announced who have qualified for the competition final, which will take place during the Futurist of The Year Congress on April 9 – 11, 2024, giving the finalists a chance to meet in person world-renowned scientists and futurologists. The winners of the competition, who will win free studies at the College of Economic Sciences and Management at the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School in Warsaw, will be announced at the Dom Kopernika Awards Gala on the third day of the #FOTY2024 congress.

In response to the numerous inquiries directed to SGMK, the rector has also informed that there will still be an opportunity to win tickets to the Futurist of The Year 2024 Congress, through a contest that will be announced this Wednesday.

Dom Kopernika Publications – competition for student editors

During the conference, the call for entries for the third stream of support under the Dom Copernicus project – “Dom Kopernika Publishers” – was also announced.

The “Dom Kopernika Publishers” competition invites students from all universities in the country to submit their ideas for supporting an existing or establishing a new quarterly scientific journal.

“Dom Kopernika Publishers” is a competition in which you can win:

  1. Mentoring and support in the development of your publication, its composition, printing and distribution.
  2. Graphic designer’s assistance in assembling a student quarterly journal.
  3. Printing up to 1,000 copies.
  4. Delivery and distribution support.

The three-day SGMK Science Festival, will consist of 3 parallel events: The Futurist of The Year 2024 Science Congress, Dom Kopernika Competition Final, and the Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School Colleges Science Conference.

The Rector also announced that the Three-Day Science Festival organized by Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School will be attended by world-renowned scientists and futurologists, including Nobel Prize-winning professors from such universities as Harvard University, Stanford University and Oxford University. Some of the distinguished congress speakers will also teach classes for doctoral students at Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School. “We are bringing Harvard to Poland” is the task imposed on our school and we are happy that we succeeded in organizing such renowned lecturers for SGMK students. It is worth studying with us,” concluded Rector Dr. Piotr Turek.

The highlight of the conference was the presentation of the speakers of the Futurist of The Year 2024 Science Congress – the profiles of world-famous scientists, futurologists and other distinguished speakers were presented by Philipp Eichholzer, Director of International Affairs and Development at Nicolaus Copernicus Superior School.

The conference concluded with an open lecture entitled Notes of Nicolaus Copernicus in the prints of the “Hosianum” Library in Olsztyn, delivered by Rev. Tomasz Garwolinski, Dir. of the Library of the Warmian Metropolitan Seminary Hosianum.
